“I have worked with a few great orphan-focused organizations, but I love how WBOCI is really focused on the
Church around the world as well. In fact, I have been from Central America to South East Asia and have never seen
a anything like the Orphan Advocate program. The Orphan Advocates I have worked with have helped rescue some
of the most desperate orphans in the world. Of course rescue is only the beginning, because y’all tend to stick with
the kids to help raise them.  You Advocates truly are leaving a legacy. I love working with you, give me a call.”

“Being an advocate is a blast. That’s how I started. But watch out because I ended up going from advocacy to the
jungles of Cambodia. It changed my life and I love watching it transform the people and groups assigned to me.”

“Being your advisor should be a job, but it doesn’t seem like it to me. You can’t imagine how much fun it is getting
answers for you when you need them. You see, I get to hear stories about the orphans and hear your heart for
helping them. It is so fulfilling. I like doing the Web sites for families and church small groups because I get to know
people who are as passionate to serve the Lord as I am.  Job, what job?”

“As an Orphan Advocate Advisor, I guarantee that the kids I represent to you and other Advocates are never
naughty. They are precious all the time. …Wait, not all the time but…okay, I can’t guarantee that they are always
perfect … but, I can guarantee they won’t call you up in the middle of the night and ask you if your refrigerator is
running. You are going to love being part of their lives, even when they aren’t perfect.”

“Sometimes I think we need to advise the orphans more than their advocates. We have homes with kids who were
orphaned by the Tsunami in 2004. Sometimes people ask how they are doing after all that trauma. Well, here’s why
I think they are doing better. Last week the church group that supports their daily lives said they got an ‘emergency’
email alert. Twenty of the kids had signed a petition that deemed ipods as an indispensable need for orphan
survival. The advocate group sent a message back that said ‘nice try’.”

“I like serving on mission trips. Orphan Advocates are eligible to build ‘Advocate Teams’ with their friends and
neighbors that can then plan and deploy on a mission to help the orphan home they are involved with. I’m called to
help you do this, even if it’s your first mission trip, I’ll be there. The only caveat is that you have to take me with you!
Just kidding … you don’t have to, but I’d love to go if you want.”

“I’m an Advisor, so I advise. One day, a teenager from New Jersey called complaining that I wouldn’t let her chat over
AIM with the orphans in Uganda.  It took me 20 minutes to get her to believe that the orphans they were helping have
never even seen a computer. Once I explained there was no electricity in the village, she seemed to back down, but
then she asked if she could text instead. I felt needed.  I love orphans too by the way.

Restoring Childhoods in Christ
Orphan Mission Advisors are your dedicated source of information, opportunities, ideas… and they usually have some pretty good stories,
too!
You’ll be assigned an Advisor who will guide you through the ways you can help transform the lives of orphans around the world. Your
Advisor will stick with you as you sift through ideas, present them to your group, and carry out your plans. While you’re at it, ask your
Advisor to schedule an on line meeting for you and your group. It’s fun, free, and explains your opportunities in less than 20 minutes!

“I’ve lived in three different refugee camps in Africa and realize the impact of small home churches taking care of
orphans. I’m excited with the growth of the body as the small simple house churches take care of a few orphans.  It’s
like watching the Acts 2 church bloom all over again.
